The Main Office will be open Monday-Thursday from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. If you need to visit the building, please make an appointment prior to arriving.

Freshman Orientation will be on Tuesday, August 24, from 1:00-3:00 PM.  It will be followed by Open House for all grade levels from 3:00-6:00 PM.

GHS is increasing security within the school and requires all school visitors to provide photo identification when registering as a visitor to the school. ALL visitors must use the main entrance.
As partners in our academic success, well-being, and safety, we are asking you to follow these mitigation guidelines:
  1. Students should wear masks at all times, except during lunch or while eating and drinking.
  2. Masks should be worn over the mouth and nose.  Masks should also fit snugly over the chin.
  3. Students should follow the arrows during transitions. These arrows were created to ensure pathways for appropriate social distancing.
  4. Make sure that you socially distance. Students should not gather in groups or crowds. Please spread out.

Chromebook Return Information: 
 
Seniors:  Seniors should leave their Chromebooks and chargers with their last block teacher on June 8, 2021.  If you need your Chromebook past 6/8, feel free to return it to the main office via appointment June 14-17, 2021.
 
Grades 9 thru 11:  Students should leave their Chromebooks and chargers with their last block teacher on June 15, 2021.

All Virtual Students should return their Chromebooks and chargers to the main office via appointment from June 14-17th. 
 
Please make sure when returning Chromebooks that the charging cord and block are with the Chromebook.  There is a fee of $49.00 for the charging cords/blocks.  If there is any other damage you will be contacted and a fee will be required. We are also collecting Kajeet/MiFi's at the same time.

This is for long-term (longer than 1 week) dual ridership. 
To request your child to be picked up and/or dropped off at a location other than their home of residence, please complete Section I and Section II of the linked form. Please allow three (3) business days for processing.  Once approved, the Transportation Office will notify you and the school.  To expedite the process, e-mail the completed form to; tdirector@gc.k12.va.us. Asterisk items below require completion.  Transportation will assign the Bus, Bus stop and approximate time. Forms received after mid-August may not be processed for the beginning of the school year.

We hope that you had a wonderful summer.  A brief introduction of your Senior Class Sponsors: Ms. Thompson is a Special Education teacher and Mrs. Zanette the Graduation Coach.   

Since the school year is starting off virtually, we wanted to share with you a few ways we will be communicating with our seniors and families until we are back in the school building.  First, we will be utilizing Naviance to email seniors and we have also created social media accounts specific to the Class of 2021 to blast information out.  We also created an account on the Remind App.

All athletes must meet BOTH the VHSL eligibility requirements and GCPS 2.0 requirement. Details are on the GHS website.

VHSL & GCPS Athletic Eligibility Requirements For All Athletes:

Virginia High School League Eligibility Rules:
  • A student athlete must take and pass 3 or more classes the semester before the desired sport season. (3 of 4 classes when in a 4 x 4 schedule).
    • For Fall and Winter Sports seasons this is determined by grades in the 2nd semester (3rd & 4th quarters combined).
    • For Spring Sports this is determined by grades in the 1st semester (1st & 2nd quarters combined) of the corresponding school year.
The Gloucester County Public School 2.0 Requirements:
  • A student athlete must have at least a 2.0 grade point average (GPA) from the previous semester or have a 2.0 overall GPA. Unlike the VHSL rule there is a waiver application for the 2.0 requirement.  This waiver is a one-time chance; a student cannot use more than one waiver during high school. Waiver applications are on the GHS website and are due by the deadline dates before the seasons start.
    • For Fall and Winter Sports seasons this is determined by grades in the 2nd semester (3rd & 4th quarters combined).
    • For Spring Sports this is determined by grades in the 1st semester (1st & 2nd quarters combined) of the corresponding school year.
