Chorus: Congratulations to all who were selected and participated in District Chorus this weekend. A huge congratulations to our singers who auditioned for All-State Chorus. We had 5 singers named to the All State Chorus. Our delegate singing Soprano one is Lauren King. Our alternates are Olivia Fitzgerald, Kendall Pratt, Taryn Legg, and Rey Hogge.

Congratulations to the Wrestling Team on their 3rd place finish in the Regional Tournament last
weekend. Aiden Sheesley finished 1st, Rylan Altrath & JR Jones finished 2nd, Ty Baker & Joey Foley finished 3rd, and Micah Bodiford, Corey Skay, Nick Guzzardo & Makai Scatliffe finished 4th. These wrestlers all advanced to the state tournament this weekend. Aiden Sheesley finished 4th in the state. Great Job!

GHS is celebrating Career and Technical Education Month with an Open House on Tuesday, February 21 from 5-7 PM. Students and parents are invited to visit CTE classes and meet teachers. Participating classes include Auto Tech, Game Design, Vet Science, Cybersecurity, Health Science, Criminal Justice, Economics and Personal Finance, Naval Science, Cosmetology, Culinary, Construction Tech, and Entrepreneurship.

Baseball Players: Anyone trying out on Monday, February 20th the schedule is as follows:
● 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm for grades 8 & 9
● 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm for grades 10 thru 12
You must have a VHSL physical to participate.

Boys Varsity and JV soccer tryouts will be held on Monday, February 20th thru Wednesday, February 22nd at GHS from 3:30 pm – 5:00 pm. Athletes will need a VHSL physical to participate.

Boy's Tennis: Boys Tennis tryouts will be from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm on 2/21 and 2/22. All skill levels are encouraged to participate.

SENIORS: If you need mid-year transcripts sent to colleges you MUST request this in Naviance. Please make sure you request MID-YEAR transcripts in the drop down.

Attention Seniors: Now is the time to apply for scholarships. The GHS Scholarship Application can be accessed from your Naviance account. The application with all needed forms has been sent to your school based e-mail and paper copies are available in the Counseling Office. This application enables you to apply for 37 different scholarships with just one application. The deadline of March 15th is quickly approaching. No late applications will be accepted. Please see the Counseling Office if you have any questions.

Attention rising Juniors and families: The school counseling department will start course requests for rising juniors on Monday, February 6th. If you would like to be part of that meeting, email your child’s school counselor to set up a time. Emails and school counselor assignments can be found on the GHS website under the School Counseling page.

In addition, the Dukes’ Dispatch is currently accepting student story submissions, club and activity announcements, and story ideas and leads. 4758. Senior ads are also available through the order center until 3/1/23. The yearbook sold out last year, so make sure to order before it’s too late! Contact Lauren Leszczynski, the yearbook advisor with any additional questions.

Parking Passes: Parking passes for the 2022-2023 school year are on sale now and can be purchased in the Gloucester High School Main Office. The cost for a parking pass is $52 dollars, via online thru School Cash Online site, cash, check, or money order made out to Gloucester High School. Please go to the Gloucester High School website to print out and complete the 2022-2023 Student parking pass application prior to coming into the Main Office to purchase your parking pass. If you purchase your pass using the School cash online site, make sure to bring in proof of the receipt, along with the completed 2022-2023 Student parking pass application. Students will be able to choose a numbered parking space
on a first-come, first-served basis until all parking spots are sold for the 2022-2023 school year.
