Good Morning GHS Families,
This is Dr. Mygas calling. Earlier this morning, Tuesday, February 21, 2023, GHS administration became aware of a social media post regarding a possible threat to GHS. Specifically, the post contained an image from a video game that appeared to show an individual holding a firearm inside the GHS building with the statement: “Started working on a zombies map; I present to you Call of Duty: GHS edition”. School administration immediately notified the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office, who promptly investigated the matter. Officers determined who made the post, went to the residence of that individual, and determined that there was no credible threat. At no time were any students or staff members in any danger. I want to thank the individuals who reported the post and the law enforcement officers who responded immediately. Safety at GHS is always our top priority.
Finally, we are planning to conduct a lockdown drill tomorrow, Wednesday, February 22. This drill was previously planned and has no connection to the post that was made today.
