Good Afternoon GHS Families,
This is Dr. Mygas calling to make you aware of a situation that occurred today, Wednesday, March 29. This afternoon, GHS administration was notified of a social media post which reportedly involved a GHS student posing with a firearm. The situation was immediately investigated by school administration and law enforcement. It was determined that a GHS student did make a social post which showed them holding what appeared to be a pistol. The investigation further revealed that the student made the post at home. Law enforcement located the pistol at the student’s home and determined it was a pellet gun. The pellet gun was not brought on school grounds, and no students or staff were in imminent danger.
I want to thank our staff, especially our GHS School Security Officers and School Resource Officers, for their assistance with this investigation. As always, safety is our top priority at GHS.
