Congratulations to the E-Sports Smash Bros. teams and Varsity Overwatch team for qualifying for the state playoffs. This is the 6th consecutive season that Smash has qualified and the first time an Overwatch team has qualified for states.

Congratulations to all of the Nurse Aide students on passing their Board of Nursing State Written Exams: Ava Arnone, Natallie Baines, Lannah Callis, Joelle Forrest, Andrea Harder, Peyton Humphrey, Riley Knight, Kamryn McDonough, Mackenzie Penn, Jaida Peet, and Abigayle Wheeler.

Congratulations to Riley Knight and Ava Arnone on passing both of their state certification exams and becoming the next Certified Nurse's Aides.

The last All Pro Dad Breakfast for the 2023-2024 school year will take place on Wednesday, May 8th at 8:00 AM in the Duke Rock Cafe. Forms are due back to the Main Office by 12:00 PM on Friday, May 3rd. Extra forms can be picked up from the GHS Main Office or by clicking here.

The Marching Dukes are hosting a car wash on May 4th from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM at O'Reilly's Auto Parts in Hayes in the Kroger shopping center. The proceeds go directly to the students who will be there to fund their Disney band trip next year.

Model UN: On Monday, April 22nd, you and your family will have the chance to travel around the world and taste food from different coutnries-without ever leaving Gloucester High School. That's right! We are hosting a "Taste of the World" from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22nd, in the Duke Rock Cafe. Invite your family to join you after school that day to enjoy international food and fun, while helping your Model United Nations group raise money. Teachers, staff, students, families, and friends are all invited. You can buy a ticket for just $10 from any MUN student. We hope to see you on April 22nd for "A Taste of the World!"

Beginning Monday afternoon, at the Gloucester Point Library Branch, artwork will be on display form the 3D Crafts and Advanced Studio Art Students. Check it out!

Dress Code: Parents and guardians, we appreciate your support in following the GCPS dress code, which is found on page 6 of the Student Code of Conduct.

Gloucester High School is pleased to announce that students can take the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles Learner's Permit Test online at the school on the following dates: May 1st, May 22nd, & June 5th in the Library Media Center. Students 15 years and 6 months or older are eligible to test. Please see Canvas, Mr. Morgan, or Ms. Hy[es for more details.

Lost & Found: Students this is a reminder to check the lost and found daily if you have misplaced any items.

Bus Notes: Students this is a reminder to turn in your bus notes to the Main Office at the beginning of the school day.

Student Parking Passes for the 2-23-2024 school year are sold out.

Parking: Parents, please do not park in the DSS parking lot across from GHS when you come to pick up your children from school.

Student Illness: Please see this note from the school nurses about policies and procedures fo when students are sick.

Seniors:
Jostens will be at GHS on Wednesday, April 24th to deliver graduation items. For those seniors needing to purchase a cap and gown unit, they can be purchased for $50 (cash or money order make out to Jostens).

The GHS Senior Class presents, the "Meet Me at Midnight" Prom on Saturday, May 4th from 7:00 PM until 10:00 PM at the Kiln Creek Golf and Country Club. Early bird tickets go on sale starting Monday, March 18th through Sunday, April 7th: $65, Singles, $80 Couples. Regular tickets go on sale Monday, April 8th through Sunday, April 28th, $80 Singles, $95 Couples. Outside guests must be registered using a form linked on CAnvas. Any questions, please contact Mrs. Williams or Mrs. Zanette.

Summer School: GHS will offer virtual courses for initial credit and credit recovery this summer. The cost for all courses is $100 each. Registration forms are also available in the School Counseling Office. Contact your school counselor for details.

Intervention and Treatment Specialist: We are very excited to announce that we are offering a new service to students at GHS! In partnership with the Middle Peninsula Northern Neck CSB, a Substance Abuse Intervention and Prevention Specialist will be on-site at GHS. The goal of the position is to offer substance use intervention/prevention and counseling services to lower the rate of substance use and abuse in Gloucester County Schools by offering intervention and prevention services to students.

Athletics:
Attention Parents/Guardians: when attending athletic events please park in the designated parking areas. No public parking for Softball, Baseball, or Tennis matches in the area along the tennis courts, or by the GHS auto shop area. This area has a lot of construction equipment and supplies.

Sportsmanship is a top priority of the Virginia High School League and GHS. Please show support and respect for the fans, opposing teams, and game officials at all times while attending home or away events. Any misconduct can lead to dismissal from the game, and from attending future games. Please help us enjoy another successful athletic season by showing extraordinary sportsmanship at all times.

Ticket Prices: Peninsula District athletic event ticket prices have increased this year for the sporting events that charge. Students and Adults are $7 each, children 6-12, and senior citizens are $5 each. This is for all home and away events.
