Gloucester HS 2024 Graduation Information
Location: Dukes Stadium at Gloucester High School, 6680 Short Lane, Gloucester, VA 23061
Date: Saturday, June 8, 2024
Time: Ceremony begins at 9:00AM. Stadium opens for guests at 7:00AM.
Information for Guests:
Parking:
- Guests may park in the GHS student parking lot and across the street at the Social Services
building.
- Parking will be available at the GCPS Transportation Facility located at 5318 T.C. Walker Rd.,
Gloucester, VA 23061. Shuttle Buses will run between the Transportation Facility and GHS
beginning at 7:30AM and continuing until after the ceremony.
- Guests are encouraged to carpool, as parking is limited.
- Golf carts will be available to take guests from the GHS parking lot to the stadium
- Handicapped parking is available near the stadium with a valid permit only.
Security:
- Security screening will include metal detectors and bag checks.
- The screening will be done as quickly as possible, but guests should plan to arrive early enough to get through the screening before the start of the ceremony.
- Guests with bags should anticipate a longer time needed for screening. Guests are highly encouraged not to bring bags unless absolutely necessary.
- Items not permitted inside the stadium include: Vaping devices, tobacco products, alcohol,
marijuana, illegal drugs, noise makers (horns, sirens, etc.) knives (including pocket knives of any
size), fireworks, mace, pepper spray, tasers, stun guns, firearms, and any other types of weapons.
Inside the Stadium:
- Children 5 years of age and younger do not need a ticket
- Handicapped seating will be available on the platforms near the bleacher ramps and along the
track.
- Bottled water, fans, and flowers will be available for sale.
- The graduation ceremony is a formal ceremony, and we ask all guests to honor our graduates with appropriate behavior and decorum.
Information for Graduates:
- Mandatory graduation practice will be held on Friday, June 7 at 8:30AM. Graduates should report to the auditorium.
- Graduation tickets will be distributed at graduation practice. All graduates will receive 10 tickets. To reserve 5 additional tickets, visit or call the GHS Main Office at (804)-693-2526 by 12:30PM on Thursday, June 6.
- On the morning of the ceremony, no graduates should go directly to GHS. Graduates must arrive at Page Middle School no later than 7:30AM to take a bus to GHS. Parking at Page is limited, so graduates are encouraged to carpool or get dropped off.
- Graduates may not wear jeans, flip-flops, or crocs. High-heeled shoes are not recommended.

Inclement Weather Plan:
We are planning for an outdoor ceremony in the stadium. We are closely monitoring the weather forecast, and if any changes are necessary, they will be announced as soon as decisions are made. If inclement weather is forecast, contingency plans include:
- Outdoor ceremony in the afternoon of Saturday, June 8
- Outdoor ceremony on Sunday, June 9
- Two indoor ceremonies in the GHS main gym
