Daily Reminders:
GHS Families: The Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) works with the School Board to improve services and support for students with disabilities in our schools. The committee is made up of parents of students with disabilities, adults with disabilities, school staff, and community representatives. Together, we share resources, raise awareness, and make recommendations on how our division can best meet the needs of all students. We would love for you to join us at our next meeting on Monday, December 8th, at 6:00 p.m. at the T.C. Walker Education Center.
All items on the Care Closet food list are still needed for weekly food bags. The items can be found on the GHS website under the "Find It Fast" page. Any donations will be greatly appreciated. Please contact shartley@gc.k12.va.us with any questions.
Reminder: Early dismissal pick-up ends promptly at 2:20 PM. If you need to pick your student up early, please arrive PRIOR to 2:20 PM.
Lost and Found: Students, this is a reminder to check the Lost and Found daily if you have misplaced any items.
Dress Code: This is a reminder that sleepwear, blankets, and bedroom slippers are not allowed to be worn at school. Please make sure you’re following the dress code.
Bus Notes Reminder: All students who need to submit a bus note must turn it in to the Main Office in the morning. Notes should be provided at the start of the school day to allow time for review and approval. Submitting notes later in the day may result in delays or the note not being approved.
The Activity Bus will depart GHS at 5:30 p.m. for the remainder of the school year. The bus runs Monday through Thursday only. Parents/guardians must be at their student’s designated stop when they arrive. If a student will not have a ride from their stop, a completed permission form must be turned in. Copies of the form are available in the Main Office, and completed forms should be given directly to the Activity Bus driver.
Yearbooks are now available for pre-order on yearbookordercenter.com using code 4758.
Additional parking passes are on sale via School Cash Online for Juniors and Seniors. Passes will be on a first come first served basis. If you have already purchased a pass but have not yet selected your spot, please bring your completed parking pass application along with a screenshot or printed copy of your receipt to the Main Office.
Free/Reduced Meal applications are available online and paper applications are available in the GHS Main Office.
Demographics Form: Parents and students, please check and verify contact information for you and your emergency contacts in PowerSchool. All returning GCPS students received an email from PowerSchool with a link to update demographic and emergency contact information. Please be sure to log in and verify that all information is correct, and make any changes that are necessary. If you need any help with PowerSchool, or have any other questions, please call the GHS Main Office at (804)-693-2526.
