Congratulations to our Varsity Football team under leadership of head coach Ryan Wenner and his team! The Friday night game was an epic win.
No School: There will be no school for students and staff Monday, September 7th, in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Students and staff will return on Tuesday, September 8th.
Picture Day: Underclassmen pictures for grades 9–11 will take place on Monday, September 14th, and Tuesday, September 15th. Please visit the GHS website Events tab for more information.
Activity and Club Information:
Are you interested in joining Key Club? Our first meeting will be Tuesday, September 8th in room 322 immediately after school. We look forward to seeing you there!
FFA is having its first meeting Thursday September 10th in room 226 right after school. Any student enrolled in an agriculture course this school year is eligible to be a member. We will discuss upcoming events and our fundraiser.
The WEB Du Bois Honor Society will have its first meeting on Tuesday, September 8th, in Mrs. Carter's room 134 from 2:50-3:50, right after school. The GHS-NAACP will meet Thursday, September 10th, in Mrs. Carter's room 134 from 2:50-3:50. WEBDBHS will meet on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, and GHS-NAACP will meet on the 2nd Thursday. Can't wait to see you there!
The Student Advisory Committee will meet Tuesday, September 8th after school in room 123. If you are unable to attend, please let Mrs. Rowe know.
Like to act? Interested in working backstage? The International Thespian Society will be meeting on Thursday, September 10, at 2:50 in room 305 (blackbox theatre). Join us for improv games and information about fundraising and future productions.
Auditions for the competition one act team will be held on Thursday, September 17, in room 305, the black box theatre. Please bring a monologue to the audition. See the link in canvas to pre-register or sign up to work backstage.

Athletics
🏆 Registration Reminder: All students planning to play a sport at Gloucester High School for the 2026–2027 school year must complete the Arbiter registration to be eligible to participate in conditioning, tryouts, practice, or competition. Important: All student physicals must be uploaded online through the Arbiter App. We are not accepting physical copies of student physicals. The Arbiter registration link, tutorial, and information sheet can be found on the GHS Athletics website. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Paul White, AD.
Counseling
Stress Management Group - Feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or just looking for better ways to handle the pressures of high school? Join our Stress Management Group, a supportive space where students can learn practical strategies to manage stress, build healthy coping skills, and feel more balanced. Groups start September 9th. Sign up in either the counseling office or email Ms. Morris.
Daily Reminders:
This is a reminder to all families that have not completed the Returning Student Annual Update. Parents/Guardians can complete required forms through the PowerSchool Parent Portal or via the Snapcode link sent by email. Please contact the Main Office or Counseling Office with any questions.
New Parent Drop/Off and Pick up Route: Parents/Guardians, in effort to alleviate back up on Short Lane; the pickup/drop off route this year will be routed through the lot on the right (Driver’s ed range). Please see our social media for more details and even a video! Staff will be on hand to direct you.

Student Parking - There has been a delay in getting the numbers painted in the newly paved student lot. Student parking is on a first-come, first-served basis until the spots are numbered. We hope to get the spot numbers painted within the next couple of weeks.
Dress Code: This is a reminder that students must be covered from shoulders to mid-thigh. Shorts/skirts above mid-thigh, exposed mid-driffs, and exposed shoulders are not allowed. Please see page 10 of the GCPS student code of conduct for details.
