The first day of school for students is tomorrow, Monday, August 29th. Please be advised that students may enter the building at 7:20 am. The tardy bell will ring at 7:40 am and students are released at the end of the day at 2:40 pm.

Please be advised that under School Board policy, students may possess personal communication devices, but they must be turned off, put away, and may not be used during the school day. This policy applies to cell phones, headphones, earbuds, smart watches, and all other personal communication devices. Also, note that hats and hoods are not to be worn in the building during school hours.

Food Service: For the 2022-2023 school year, student meal prices are as follows:
- Breakfast: $1.90 Reduced price: $0.30
- Lunch: $2.80 Reduced price: $0.40
Students will need to submit an application for a free or reduced price meal. Applications are available at this link: https://5il.co/1d6pd and in the GHS main office, and may be submitted online though the GCPS website or in-person at GHS. If you have any questions, please contact the Food Service Department at 804-693-3585.

An important reminder to students and families to please use extreme caution when driving in the student parking lot. This space is used by our band and other teams for practices. Please do not speed, drive through or park in these designated areas.

Clinic: This is a reminder that the State of Virginia requires rising seniors to receive the Meningococcal Vaccine prior to the first day of school. If your child has not received at least one immunization prior to the first day of school, they are ineligible to attend. Please submit any immunization records to the clinic as soon as possible. If you have any questions please contact the clinic.

Attention Parents of Dual Enrollment Students:  Payment for dual enrollment is now being accepted for the upcoming school year. All fall semester payments must be submitted to Ms. Early, the GHS Bookkeeper by Friday, September 16, at 3:00 p.m.
