GHS 2025 Homecoming Dance "A Night in Greece"

The first ceremony will take place in the morning from 9:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. This event will bring together School Board members, members of the Board of Supervisors, county administration and staff, state and federal officials representing Gloucester County, as well as leaders from Moseley Architects and Gresham Construction, whose partnership helped make the renovation possible.
The evening ceremony, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., will welcome families, students, alumni, residents, and community partners for a celebration open to all. Guests will be able to take part in self-guided and guided building tours, view Career and Technical Education and program displays, browse spirit gear and Booster Club tables, and explore a “before and after” renovation gallery. The evening will also include student music performances, remarks from the Superintendent, and light refreshments.
This day long celebration will both recognize the many people and partners who made the project a reality and provide the community with the opportunity to walk the halls of their high school, experiencing the improvements designed to serve current and future generations of students.

We are proud to announce this year’s Homecoming Court! These outstanding Dukes were nominated by their peers to represent school spirit, leadership, and Duke pride during our 2025 Homecoming celebrations. 💛❤️
Join us in congratulating them and celebrating as we build up to the big game and crowning moment! 🏈🎉#GHSHOCO2025 #DukePride #GoDukes #HomecomingCourt

This morning, updated flood models and new rainfall and river-gauge data have increased the projected risk of flooding in our area. To keep our students and staff safe, we are adjusting today’s dismissal schedule.
What Has Changed
• Forecasts now call for heavier rainfall across areas feeding into local creeks and rivers.
• River-gauge readings show rising water levels reaching thresholds for early flooding.
• The National Weather Service has issued updated flash-flood warnings for low-lying areas, particularly near bridges and roadways.
• Rain totals are expected to exceed earlier projections, with flooding risks arriving earlier in the day—during normal dismissal hours.
Adjusted Dismissal Times for Today
• Middle & High Schools: 12:15 PM
• Elementary Schools: 1:30 PM
What Families Should Do
• Please plan for earlier pickup times.
• Bus routes may be altered or delayed; check with your school or transportation coordinator.
• Walkers and parent pick-ups should avoid flood-prone routes.
• Continue to monitor GCPS communications (email, text alerts, website) for updates.
Thank you for your flexibility and understanding. The safety of our students, staff, and community remains our highest priority.
Sincerely,
Gloucester County Public Schools

What an incredible Open House at GHS! We are so grateful to our students, families, staff, and community members for showing up and making the night such a success. The energy and excitement for the year ahead could be felt throughout the building!
A special thank-you goes to the many hands who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this event possible:
-Our custodial team for preparing our beautiful spaces.
-Our technology staff and technicians for ensuring classrooms and systems were ready to welcome students.

We’re starting the school year in a newer, brighter, better place—and it’s all thanks to the incredible support of the Dukes community. Here’s to a fantastic 2025–2026 school year! 🎓❤️ #GoDukes #OnceADukeAlwaysADuke
