🏃‍♂️🏆 Congratulations to the Gloucester Track & Field team on an outstanding performance at the 4A Regional Championships!

The Dukes delivered 11 personal records, a Regional Champion, a new school record, and multiple State Meet qualifiers.

⭐ Hannah Mullis (So.) – 4A Regional Champion in Shot Put; 5th in Discus
⭐ Mohamed Erraji (Sr.) – 2nd in Shot Put, breaking the GHS school record; 4th in Discus
⭐ Boys 4x400 Relay – 3rd place and State Meet qualifier: Izak Smith, Elijah Lemasters, Grayson Shield, and Shawn Steverson
⭐ Aryiel Holland (Fr.) – 5th in both the 200m and 400m
⭐ Avalynn Hutton (Sr.) – 5th in the 1600m

Huge congratulations to our Boys Varsity Crew 4+ on an incredible performance! Facing a brutal 15–20 mph headwind, the Dukes put it all on the water and clocked a fantastic time of 5:39.59 to take 3rd place in their heat. While it wasn't quite enough to advance to the finals, we couldn't be prouder of their grit, power, and determination today. DARS and Bloom are collaborating to provide summer camps to students with IEPs and 504's who are connected to DARS.

Bloom Summer Camp will take place at Page Middle School, July 13-16, 2026!
Skills covered include:

Job Site Tours
Mock Interviews
Job Skills Training
Independent Living Skills

At the completion of camp, students are treated to a pizza party! $25 gift cards given to students with perfect camp attendance!!

• Up to 120 Hours of Paid Work Experience • Students ages 16–21
• 1:1 Job Coaching & Support • Must have a 504 Plan or IEP and connected to DARS

Both of these opportunities provide valuable work readiness skills and help students build the confidence, independence, and experience needed to become more employable in the future. From developing communication and teamwork skills to learning workplace expectations, these experiences are preparing students for success beyond the classroom! 💼✨

The national Speak Up is the first survey designed to help families share their ideas about the use of technology in schools directly with schools and national policymakers. Speak Up provides parents and guardians with a mechanism for expressing their views to the administrators at their child(ren)’s school and division about key issues impacting their child(ren)'s education.
Since 2003, Speak Up has collected and shared the views of more than 6.3 million students, teachers, and parents/guardians from across the country. By participating in the Virginia Speak Up, you are expressing your views to a wider audience of local, state, and national policy makers —and contributing to the national dialogue about how best to prepare students for the future.
The online survey is open to students, educators, and parents/guardians; it’s quick and easy to get involved. All participation is 100% confidential. Surveys take about 15 minutes to complete.
